The doctor has found blood in my urine during a couple of different exams. He sent me to a Urologist the first time and after a lot of tests, they found nothing wrong. That was 4 years ago. My last check up there was blood in my urine once again. (This is not visable to me) and he wants to send me back to the Urologist but I think it is a waste of my money. What causes this?

Thank you for your question.

Here is Dr. Elliott's response:

Some women, for some reason get a lot of UTIs. We don't know why they recur. We don't have a way of preventing them. There is no cure for UTI, there is only treatment each time they occur. It's like the common cold. Some people get a lot. Some get few. We can't prevent it and we can't cure it.

If possible we'll try to elaborate during the program.

Dear Dr.

What is the reason for urinary tract infection in women. And why would it reoccur over and over restlessly? How is it prevented? Whats the best cure?
