Dr. Sarr responds "If you get 'sick'meaning that you feel nauseated and get goose bumps and feel like you need to lie down and then ?maybe> an hour or 2 later you get diarrhea it might be 'dumping' and is much worse with foods containing sugars especially some things like maple syrup or cheery pie (of course you shouldn’t be eating them anyway.) If it is not that then the questions to ask are; are you throwing up? what do you mean by 'sick’? do you have diarrhea? Do you get blown up with your abdomen distended so that you look pregnant or do you just 'feel' distended? Why not respond back to me OK?"

Dr. Kakar says "Some of this pain could be related to symptomatic hardware for fixation of the fracture or sometimes, the bone may not have healed fully. While fracture healing does involve calcium and vitamin D, it's unlikely to affect the body's reserves."
Thanks for listening!

I had surgical repair of ulna with titanium plate nd screws over six months ago. It still causes me pain at times especially when holding things. could a low vitamine d level cause my body to take calcium from newly healing fracture?

It has been about 9 yrs since I had my bypass. I lost over 100 lbs and retain my weight at 127 lbs. My question is, when I eat or drink I get really sick. We have done x-rays, tests, and everything looks fine. Do you have any suggestions?

Thank you,
April

Dr. Porter says "Thank you for your question, unfortunately, I cannot comment on your son's exact medical circumstance since i haven't been involved directly in his care."

Dr. Porter says "Resveratrol, green tea, and turmeric are a few that might be helpful but certainly shouldn't interfere with any treatment being offered by your physician."
Thanks for listening.
PS There is a chapter in the book Navigating Life with a Brain Tumor, on this topic.

Just diagnosed with what appears to be primary glioma on MRI last month and having surgery soon. Any nutritional strategies or holistic methods to help treat brain tumors or their symptoms. Anything to reduce anxiety about surgery and outcome. By the way I rarely use my cell phone.
